Sometimes life can be overwhelming. You have so much to do and accomplish so that you can live the life of your dreams. Sometimes we reach the stage of expansion overload. When you reach this point you have to take time out a little to allow space to open up again for your continual growth.
Usually we feel guilty and afraid to stop everything and breathe. We feel as if everything will fall apart and slide backward if we take time out to just concentrate on rest and regathering.Your work and progress will slip backwards if you don’t take the time out for rest and rejuvenation. It is vital for your success. Ditch the guilt, ditch the work and just take time out from everything. Let it go.
When you let it go you remove all the pressure and you give your brain and creativity time to expand once more. I’ve had to do this recently. It all just got a bit too overwhelming for me and I felt pushed to my limits. So I retreated for awhile. Yes! I did feel guilty and worried that everything would fall apart. But it hasn’t and it won’t. It was so worthwhile as now I feel more refreshed and energized to keep moving forward.
The trick is to make sure even while you take a break, every day you just take a small step forward. Just do one small task a day even to keep you on track. This way you get your much needed break but your eye is still on the goal and you continue to move forward, no matter how slowly.
Just want to share with you a poem my mother gave me when I was a teenager.I have it hanging on my wall and probably don’t refer to it enough. I think I’m going to start reading it every day.
We can open ourselves to opportunities today.They abound in our lives. The decision to be happy is ours to make, every day, when confronted with any experience.Being open to the present is our only chance for growth.
If we allow our dreams to guide and encourage us, they become our invitations to move forward and strive for a further goal.
We can reflect on our yesterdays, and be grateful for the lessons they taught. But more importantly, we can look with hopeful anticipation at each new day ahead- GIFTS all of them.
I hope you realize the gift of the day you have ahead of you. With every breath of every new day comes the most precious and sacred gift of all- life!
American Idol Season 9 is starting to bring forth some talent and inspirational stories. Music always inspires and uplifts. What makes American Idol such a popular show is that it puts together music with inspirational stories of people who are overcoming odds to stand up for their dreams and live their life with purpose and passion. I love watching the growth of the contestants as they learn how to live their passion and inspire others in the process.
I am always overcome with emotion as I watch their stories and talents unfold. Last night I was particularly moved by Lee Dewyeze’s inspirational story. He talked of how he was kicked out of high school because of bad choices he made. Here is a young man who understands his own power and the power of choice. He revealed a profound statement.
I was kicked out of school, not because I was bad but because I made bad choices.
It was because Lee Dewyeze understood this that he could make a better choice. No matter what your past is or how bad it may seem, you can make a different choice. The mistakes and ghosts of your past happened not because you are “bad” but because you made bad choices. If it happens because you are “bad”, then you have no power to make a change. You are not in control of your life. Understanding this difference will present you with a whole new world of opportunity. Understanding this gives you back your power. You are in control you can make a better choice.
Lee Dewyeze took back his power and understood that his future was in his hands and he decided to make it better. He decided to live his purpose and become a powerful instrument of inspiration and passion. Lee’s power and love for his music purpose comes through his performances so magnetically that you don’t really even notice his slight pitch problems. The energy that comes from living the passion of his purpose instead locks on to you and inspires you to do the same.
Lee Dewyeze is a powerful, inspirational who knows and understands his own journey. About American Idol he says:
I know this is exactly what I’m supposed to do. There is no back up plan
And that is the power of choice and using your power to live your life’s purpose.
Thanks for the inspiration Lee Dewyeze. I’m so looking forward to watching you grow and see the inspirational, musical magic you create for years to come.
